Use the distributive property. Multiply each number by each other.
7*2x= 14x 7*6= 42
14x+42=1
Subtract 42 on both sides.
14x= -41
Divide both sides by 14.
We know that 14 goes into -41 almost three times.
14*3= 42 (there is one left over)
-2 13/14 (we just need one more part of 14)
That is the simplified number.
